BATAVIA, NY – The Genesee women's volleyball team earned a tough 3-1 road victory against Monroe Community College (18-25, 25-22, 25-20, 26-24). After losing the first set, the Cougars won the next three to take the match.
The offense was led by Gabriella Zitz, who had a team high with 21 kills. Michaela Hartter also attacked well with 8 kills and a strong .444 hitting percentage.
Setter Ashley Blair was the engine of the offense, recording 39 assists. Blair also added 16 digs on defense.
Defense was key, with Sloan Jonathan, Holly Bykowski, and Brooke Chiaramonte all getting 15 or more digs. Jonathan also led the team in service aces.
The team will close out their regular season as they take on Finger Lakes and Monroe Community College on the road, Saturday October 18th at 12:00 and 2:00 PM.
