BATAVIA, NY – The Genesee Community College women's volleyball team battled hard but ultimately fell to Jefferson Community College, 3-1, in a tough match. After dropping the first set, the Cougars came back to win the second, but couldn't keep momentum.
Jefferson took the first set 25-22, but Genesee responded by overtaking the second, 25-23. The Cougars fought hard, but Jefferson ultimately pulled away in the final two sets, winning 25-19 and 25-21 to secure the victory.
The Cougars' offense was led by Kylee Kolbash, who had 9 kills and 10 points, and Ashley Blair, who had 8 kills, 11 points, and 18 assists.
On defense, Holly Bykowski led the team with 20 digs, and Kylee Kolbash also contributing significantly on defense with 17 digs.
The Cougars look to bounce back as they take on SUNY Broome tomorrow September 24th at home, match starting at 6:00pm.
