BATAVIA, NY – Genesee's women's soccer team delivered a dominant performance, shutting out Erie Community College 8-0. The Cougars scored four goals in each half to secure the lopsided victory.
The offense got off to a fast start. Nina Bartz scored the first goal just over three minutes into the game, assisted by Alicia Borden. Not long after, Isabella Thom scored unassisted to make it 2-0. Before the first half ended, Samantha Bates and Abby Hall each scored a goal, giving GCC a 4-0 lead.
The scoring continued in the second half. Brooklyn Vienna scored at the 58:35 mark, assisted by Carly Burgess. Thom scored her second goal of the match, assisted by Bates. Eva Heineman and Bartz scored the final two goals late in the game, with assists from Bartz and Alivia Wolf, respectively.
