Sweeney and Ishiguro Combine for 51 in Win Over Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY... The Genesee Women's Basketball team finished the regular season Saturday, Feb. 22 with a 40 point win over Jamestown CC.
Alayah Sweeney had 27 points and 13 rebounds and 4 assists in the 2019-2020 regular season finale. Erina Ishiguro had 24 points, hitting 10-18 from the field, as well as 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. LisBeth Pineda Polanco finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in the Region III contest. Tylasia Weaver also finished with 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Michaela Curletta also finished her day with 8 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Haley Alvord chipped in 7 points for Genesee and dished out 4 assists.
Genesee outscored Jamestown 42-22 in the paint, and were able to convert their 19 takeaways into 19 points off turnovers.
Next up for Genesee, the Lady Cougars will begin postseason play on Saturday, February 29th, as they take on Mercyhurst NE at Niagara County CC at 1pm in the Region III Semi-Finals.
