Standout center back Glenn Holmes earned accolades both on and off the pitch during his two seasons at Genesee Community College. Holmes cocaptained the program’s first NJCAA National Championship team in 2017, while leading the country in points by a defender with 32. He was selected multiple times to the all-conference and all-region teams and was a first team NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches All-American in 2017, starting every game that season in which the Cougars went unbeaten. Holmes also excelled in the classroom, earning numerous academic honors at the conference and regional level, and was a SUNY Scholar Athlete in 2017-18, just one of nine representatives from 385 NJCAA teams. After GCC, Holmes continued his academic and athletics at NCAA Division I East Tennessee State University, before finishing his career at NCAA Division II Thomas Jefferson University.
