BATAVIA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's basketball team earned their first win of the season against the Roberts Wesleyan JV Redhawks Tuesday night, winning 59-53.
In a game that saw Genesee lead from start to finish, Sydney Reilly had a game-high 19 points to lead the way offensively. Reilly also collected six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Madison Hughson scored 11 points, with two rebounds, and two assists. Elle Peterson scored 10 points with eight rebounds. Jaimin Macdonald scored seven points and had a monster day on the boards, collecting 13 rebounds. Kiara van der Jagt scored six points, while Seneca Calderon and Samantha Bates each scoring three points. Alivia Wolf and Julia Knight played valuable minutes for Genesee in the victory.
The Cougars will return to action as they host the Nazareth Golden Flyers JV team on Monday, December 1 at 5:30pm.
