The Genesee Community College women's basketball team will play its final regular season road game of the season on Thursday night when the Cougars travel to Jamestown Community College to take on the Jayhawks.
Dating back to last season, Genesee (5-19, 0-8) has gone 20 tries without a Western New York Athletic Conference victory and fell to Jamestown in the first meeting of the season on Feb.1, 46-45.
Jamestown (17-6, 6-1) sits atop the Division II WNYAC standings, but has losses in two of its last three games.
Last time out:
Genesee could not overcome a slow second half start and fell on the road at Erie Community College on Tuesday night, 68-52. Dashawna Jenifer scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Breana Gleaton added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars.
Jamestown last played on Feb. 8 at Erie Community College and dropped a 69-51 decision to the Kats. Aklah Luceus scored a team high 15 points and Taylor Storer added 10 points. The Jayhawks had 35 giveaways and surrendered 28 points off of turnovers in the game.
What to watch for:
JCC's Elle Reed was the only player on either team to reach double-figures in the Feb. 1 meeting, finishing with 16 points. No other scorer recorded more than eight points.
GCC shot just 27 percent from the floor in the loss to JCC and was successful on just 3 of 16 three-point attempts.
Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday night in Jamestown, NY. For updates and results, follow Genesee Athletics on Twitter: @GCCSports.
