With a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournament bid on the line, the Genesee Community College volleyball team will host the District L championship on Saturday and welcome Harcum College (PA) to the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium.
Genesee (23-18) claimed its 19th consecutive Region III Division II title on Oct. 21 to advance to the district finals. The Cougars beat Mercyhurst North East, 3-1.
Harcum (26-4) won the Region XIX title to advance to Saturday's match. The Bears defeated Lackawanna College in its regional finals on Oct. 25, 3-1.

After winning the Region III Division II championship, the Cougars competed in the Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) tournament on Oct. 25, finishing in 2nd place. GCC went 2-1 in the tournament, defeating Erie Community College and Mercyhurst North East before falling to Monroe Community College in the finals. Haley Case and Kelsey Wright were named to the All-Tournament team for Genesee.
Harcum won three out of four sets against Lackawanna College on Oct. 25 (25-15, 19-25, 25-10, 25-18), winning the Region XIX championship for the second time in program's history. Jennifer Gell tallied 20 digs for the Bears, Anastasija Jurisic had 18 digs and 15 kills and Daydria Walker added 12 kills and four service aces.
What to watch for:
The winner of Saturday's match will represent District L in the NJCAA National Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona on Nov. 20-22.
Genesee is 3-0 vs. Harcum College since 2006 and has only lost one set to the Bears.
The Cougars last played in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2011.
GCC is 2-0 against common opponents this season.
