The GCC women's basketball team dropped its second game in a row on Saturday falling to visiting Jamestown Community College, 67-62.
Thais Matté, Brionna Blocker and Abagail Kamysz combined to score 48 of Genesee's points, but the Cougars went on a nearly four-minute scoring drought in the final quarter that allowed JCC to edge out the win.
Genesee led by two at the half but was outscored in both of the final two periods to fall to 2-4 in Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) play and 6-16 on the season.
Matté connected four times from 3pt range and finished with a game high 22 points for GCC. Blocker added 14 points and eight rebounds, Kamysz ended with 12 points and five assists, Tychelle Daniel grabbed 14 rebounds and scored five points and Clarissa Walker scored the only points off the bench, tallying seven to go along with nine rebounds.
Genesee will end its five-game homestand on Wednesday night against No. 2 Monroe CC. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
