The Genesee Community College women's basketball team will end its home schedule on Tuesday night when Erie Community College visits for Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) matchup and a 5:30 p.m. start.
Genesee (12-11, 1-7) is currently ranked fifth in the Region III Division II standings and the Cougars have lost their last two games, both against WNYAC opponents.
Erie (3-17, 0-7) is still in search of its first WNYAC win of the season and the Kats have dropped their last six contests.
Last time out:
Genesee let a 10-point lead at home slip away against Mercyhurst North East on Feb. 7, falling to the Saints 66-54. Shanell Glover was the only Cougar to reach double-digits in points scored, finishing the afternoon with a game-high 15. GCC starters were held to a total of 20 points scored and the Cougars were minus-11 in rebounding.
Erie dropped a 59-37 decision at home to Jamestown Community College on Feb. 7. The Kats went 0-9 from 3-pt range and never held a lead. Hannah Hodges and Jessica McAdory both led ECC with nine points and Renita Johnson added eight.
What to watch for:
Genesee leads the season series 1-0 after a 75-52 win at ECC on Jan. 22.
Latricia Stephens scored a game-high 24 points in the first matchup and she also grabbed 12 rebounds.
GCC collected a season-high 64 rebounds in the first matchup with ECC.
