Cougars Can't Overcome Early Drought

The Genesee Community College women's basketball team began Saturday afternoon's contest against visiting Jamestown Community College on a 10-0 run, but the Cougars allowed the Jayhawks to score 41 of the next 57 points and never recovered, falling 79-57.

Elsa Andersson scored seven of her team-high 14 points in the first half for GCC and Thais Matté connected on four 3-point attempts to finish with 12 points.

Terra Clanton and Shanell Glover scored a combined 17 points off the bench, nine and eight respectively and Taylor Tillotson collected six rebounds for the Cougars

Genesee falls to 10-9 overall and 1-5 win Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) play and will return to action on Sunday at Herkimer College. Tip-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
