Swimming and Diving Wins Home Meet Against Jamestown

The Genesee Community College swimming and diving team combined for a win over visiting Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night, 131-53 in the 24-event competition.

Jursil Chirino won the men's 200 yard free (1:52.69), 100 yard free (51.94) and the 50 yard free (23.69) for the Cougars. John Stansbury added a first place finish in the 100 yard fly (1:00.97) and Lyle Wagner paced the 200 yard IM (2:14.27). Stansbury teamed up with Jason Williams, Joseph Amico and Matthew Wolbert to win the 200 yard medley relay with a finishing time of 2:07.41 and Chirino, Stansbury, Wagner and Nicholas DiNardo won the 200 yard free relay (1:37.42).

On the women's side, Islalie Sylvani won the 50 yard free (27.06) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.68) and Miah Stevens was the top-finisher in the 200 yard free (2:16.45). Stevens and Sylvani joined Katelyn Nice and Morgan DeMun to help Genesee with the 200 yard free relay with a finishing time of 1:56.22.

The Cougars will return to action on Nov. 15 at the Herkimer County Community College Invitational.
