Moore Named WNYAC Coach of the Year

Genesee Community College softball head coach Cassie Moore was recently named the Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) Coach of the Year for the 2015 spring season.

In her second season as head coach, Moore led Genesee to its first WNYAC title in school history and a 25-11 overall record, including a 7-0 mark in conference play. The Cougars reached the Region III Group B Finals and were just one win away from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament.

Genesee led the conference in team batting average (.358), and was third in home runs (10), runs (258) and runs batted in (214).

Six members of this year's team received postseason honors, including two selections to the All-Region First Team and six selections to the All-WNYAC First and Second Team.
