The GCC softball team won both games of a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon against visiting Niagara County Community College to improve to 14-7 on the year.
Genesee won game one 9-1 in six innings and took a back-and-forth game two, 13-12.
Shannon Baker took a no hitter into the sixth in game one before eventually allowing two hits. She allowed one run (unearned) and struck out nine to earn the win.
Baker also drove in three runs at the plate on a 3-4 day which included a triple. Karissa Schuster went 2-3 and scored three runs, Andrea Torres was 2-3 and scored a run and Chelsey Ruzewski drove in a run on a double and scored once.
Kristin Hohn battled for the win on the mound in game two. She allowed 12 runs (just three earned) on 11 hits and struck out four.
Torres went 3-4 with a double and scored three times, Ruzewski collected two hits, scored twice and drove in a run, Dani Wilshire was 2-4, scored three runs and drove in two, Georgie Miller had 4 RBI's on a pair of hits and Elizabeth Myers had two hits and scored a run.
Baker came in to pitch the seventh to earn the save for Genesee, which returns to action at home on Thursday in a doubleheader against Monroe Community College beginning at 3 p.m.
