Balarabe Signs Letter of Intent With St. Mary's

GCC men's soccer defender Habib Balarabe (New Eltham, UK) recently signed a National Letter of Intent with St. Mary's University (TX) to join the Rattlers men's soccer program this upcoming fall.

Balarabe appeared in 27 games during his two seasons with Genesee and made 13 starts. He scored twice during the 2015 season and was part of a defense that held opponents to 0.75 goals per game, the second best average in the country.

Balarabe will join fellow Cougar Jake Miller at SMU, which competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level in San Antonio. The Rattlers are members of the Heartland Conference and played to an 8-9 overall record in 2015.

Balarabe will receive athletic scholarship to attend St. Mary's and major in Accounting.
