The Genesee Community College men's soccer team won its fifth straight game to start the season after defeating Mohawk Valley CC on Saturday afternoon, 5-1.
The Cougars took a one-goal lead into the second half and Richardson added his second of the contest in the 64th minute off of a penalty kick to put GCC in front 2-0.
It took just over a minute for Richardson to strike again, finding the back of the net in the 65th minute off of an assist from Rafael Godoi.
Victor Obetta-Chinenye gave GCC a four-goal lead with a tally in the 75th minute before the Hawks scored their only goal of the game in the 82nd minute.
Kasuyuke Nakane ended the scoring with a goal in the 87th minute and GCC cruised to the 5-1 win.
The Cougars sent 20 shots on net and shut MVCC down defensively, holding the Hawks to just four shots on goal. Connor Halstead made three saves in net.
Genesee (5-0) will return to action on Sunday afternoon against Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 2 p.m.
