Above .500 for the first time this fall, the Genesee Community College men's soccer team will host Onondaga Community College on Saturday, beginning a three-game home stand that will end the regular season on Oct. 18 for the Cougars.
Genesee (7-6) has continued to stay hot, winning seven out of its last eight.
Onondaga (10-4) is currently riding a six-game winning streak, a stretch dating back to Sep. 22.
Last time out:
GCC claimed the Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) title with a 2-0 road win at Jamestown Community College on Oct. 8. Darius Johnson and Gareth Corrigan tallied the Cougar goals, in the 55th and 83rd minutes, respectively.
OCC shut out Erie Community College 3-0 at home on Oct. 8. Zachary Rotolli scored twice and Dan Desmarais added a goal for the Lazers. Chris Spaulding made four saves in net to earn his second shutout win of the season.
What to watch for:
Genesee has defeated Onondaga in each of the last four seasons.
The Cougars allow the seventh-fewest goals per game at 0.84. The Lazers are 28th in that category, allowing an average of 1.34 goals per game.
