Cougars Try To Move Above .500 at Jamestown on Wednesday

The Cougars improved their overall record to .500 with a win on Monday night and will look to improve to above that mark for the first time this season on Wednesday when they travel to Jamestown Community College.

Genesee (6-6) is playing its best soccer of the season, winning six out of its last seven games after starting the year 0-5.

Jamestown (4-10) has lost six out of its last seven and is currently riding a three-game losing skid.

Last time out:

GCC dropped visiting SUNY Adirondack 6-0 at Monday night. Ikuma Hirano scored a pair of second half goals and Jake Miller, Sam M'buru, Darius Johnson and Dell Storey each added a goal. The Genesee defense held the Timberwolves to just three shots on net, securing GCC's fifth shutout win of the season.

JCC lost a 2-0 contest at Tompkins-Cortland Community College on Oct. 4. The Jayhawks managed just two shots on goal and were shut out for the third time this fall.

What to watch for:

With a 5-2 record in Region III play, the Cougars are currently in fifth place. Jamestown (2-7) is currently in 15th.

Genesee has defeated the Jamestown in each of the last four seasons.

Wednesday will mark the last regular season road game this fall for GCC. The Cougars are 2-4 in road and or neutral site games this year.
