Cougars Earn Conferece, Regional Honors

Several members of the 2015 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team received Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) and Region III accolades for their play throughout the spring.

Named All-WNYAC were sophomores Jimmy Smith, Cameron Seneca, Mitchell Kinney and Joshua Wester and freshmen Brody Jorgenson, Cyrus Spruce, Jacob Bomberry, Reed Hnidy and Alex Henry. Jorgenson, Spruce, Smith, Bomberry and Hnidy were named to the All-WNYAC first team and Seneca, Kinney, Wester and Henry were named to the second team.

In addition to all-conference honors, Bomberry, Spruce, Jorgenson and Hnidy were named to the All-Region III first team and Smith and Henry garnered second team honors. Kinney, Wester, John Jimerson and Jake Wittmeyer received honorable mention honors.

Genesee finished the spring 12-5 and returned to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament Final Four for the fourth time in the last five years. The Cougars were 2-0 in conference play and won the WNYAC title.
