The Cougars will welcome No. 1 Onondaga Community College to GCC on Saturday in a showdown of two of the top-five ranked teams in the country. No. 4 Genesee (3-2) will put its two game win streak on the line against OCC, which has started the season unbeaten at 5-0.
Genesee is coming off of an 11-6 win over No. 6 Howard Community College on Mar. 21, its third win against a ranked opponent so far this spring. Cyrus Spruce added to his team-leading goals total, scoring three times in the win. The freshman now has 18 goals this season, which is tied for fourth most in the NJCAA.
Onondaga beat No. 2 Community College of Baltimore County-Essex 11-6 on Mar. 21, and the Lazers have defeated their opponents by an average margin of 20.8 goals per game this spring. OCC has won 92 games in a row, a mark that is five wins shy of tying the NJCAA all-time record for most consecutive wins.
