Men's Lacrosse wins Regular Season Finale at Finger Lakes

The Cougars scored nine first quarter goals en-route to a 25-3 win in the regular season finale at Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Lommer scored less than a minute into the game and Jimmy Smith followed with his first of five goals on the day just 45-seconds later.

Smith scored again in the second quarter along with Nick Gray, Pete DiLaura, Josh Wester and Tyler Skowronski and the Cougars held a 14-1 lead at the half.

Genesee kept adding to its lead in the second half with goals from Mitchel Kinney and Tyler Meegan in the third quarter and Dylan Jonathan, Luka Baildon and Kyler Friesner in the fourth quarter.

The Cougars never trailed in the game and the lead was never in doubt.

Craig Seneca made five saves in net in the first half and Mark Pucek had two saves in the second.

Gray finished with five assists and three goals, Smith scored a game-high five goals and also had two assists, Wester added four goals and two assists, Dana Ray chipped in a hat-trick with three goals and three assists, Skowronski ended the day with two goals and two assists and Kinney and Lommer both had a goal and two assists apiece.

DiLaura was 13 of 18 on face-offs, had eight ground balls and two takeaways.

Jesse Jimerson led the defense with five takeaways and three ground balls.
