The No. 6 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team cruised to its seventh win of the season on Saturday night by defeating visiting Cayuga Community College, 14-2.

The Cougars scored the first nine goals of the game, including eight in the first quarter to take control quickly.

Mitchel Kinney scored four minutes in and the Cougars did not look back, getting a pair of goals from Dana Ray and Tyler Skowronski to eventually take a nine-goal lead.

Cayuga capitalized on a three-man advantage halfway through the second quarter to score its first goal of the game, but GCC ended the half with the final two goals- one from Nick Gray and one from Pete DiLaura, to take an 11-1 lead into halftime.

The Cougars scored the only two goals of the third quarter with Jimmy Smith scoring at the 9:54 mark and Kinney adding his second of the game with 31-second remaining in the frame to take a 13-1 lead into the fourth.

Kinney scored again in the fourth after a Cayuga goal, completing the hat-trick and giving GCC a 12-goal victory.

Genesee (7-4) will travel to Broome Community College on Wednesday for its next contest beginning at 4pm.
