The No. 6 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team cruised to its seventh win of the season on Saturday night by defeating visiting Cayuga Community College, 14-2.
The Cougars scored the first nine goals of the game, including eight in the first quarter to take control quickly.
Cayuga capitalized on a three-man advantage halfway through the second quarter to score its first goal of the game, but GCC ended the half with the final two goals- one from Nick Gray and one from Pete DiLaura, to take an 11-1 lead into halftime.
The Cougars scored the only two goals of the third quarter with Jimmy Smith scoring at the 9:54 mark and Kinney adding his second of the game with 31-second remaining in the frame to take a 13-1 lead into the fourth.
Kinney scored again in the fourth after a Cayuga goal, completing the hat-trick and giving GCC a 12-goal victory.
Genesee (7-4) will travel to Broome Community College on Wednesday for its next contest beginning at 4pm.
