The #6 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team followed its 28-goal record-setting performance on Saturday with another big win on Wednesday as they defeated Western New York Athletic Conference rival Niagara County Community College 21-1.
Genesee tallied 19 unanswered goals before the Thunderwolves ended the shutout bid with a goal early in the fourth quarter.
In all, 12 different Cougars scored and they were led by freshman attack Joshua Wester who registered four goals.
From the beginning, GCC took command of the face-off circle as Ben Madafferi won 19 of them.
On the defensive end, Meegan and Madafferi held NCCC in check all night as they combined for 13 ground balls. Merek Regan added seven takeaways and four ground balls and Johnny Astrologo finished with six ground balls and four takeaways.
Genesee (5-2, 2-0) will travel to no. 1 Onondaga Community College on Saturday. Face-off is scheduled for 1pm.
