The Genesee Community College men's basketball team upped its win streak to four games in a row with a 76-72 Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) win over visiting Jamestown Community College on Saturday afternoon.
Jamestown held Genesee without a basket for nearly five minutes to start the game and jumped out to an 11-0 lead. The Cougars responded with a 9-0 run in less than three minutes to cut the deficit to two, but did not lead in the half and went into the break trailing 34-28.
GCC hit five times from 3pt range in the second half, including three from Terrence Brown, and shot better than 48-percent to outscore the Jayhawks by 10 in the final frame to improve to 4-3 in conference play after starting 0-3.
Brown finished with 21 points and seven rebounds, Alex Morris scored 16 second half points and ended the afternoon with 19 and seven boards, Rahsaan Williams grabbed 10 rebounds and scored eight points and Devante Carolina added eight points off the bench.
Genesee (17-6, 4-3) will return to action when it hosts No. 7 Monroe CC on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
