The GCC men's basketball team lost its fourth game in a row on Thursday night, letting a late lead slip away to Erie CC, eventually falling in overtime 86-84.
Genesee held Erie to just nine first half baskets and led 36-30 at the break.
The Cougars built a lead as large as 14 with 12:31 to play in the second half, but allowed the Kats to go on a 30-14 run to give up the lead with less than three minutes to play.
Anthony Williams tied the game at 78 apiece with 25-seconds left in regulation and after a missed ECC opportunity, the game went into overtime.
GCC took the lead first in the extra session after a pair of Williams free-throws, but Erie ended the game on an 8-4 run to upset the Cougars.
Williams finished with 23 points and four assists, Terrence Brown added 19 points and 11 rebounds, Alex Morris scored 17 points and dished out five assists and Devante Carolina came off the bench to score nine points and grab five rebounds.
Genesee falls to 0-3 in Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) play so far this season and 13-6 overall. The Cougars will travel to Jamestown-Olean on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
