The GCC men's basketball team improved to 3-1 this season after a 107-85 win at home against Lakeland CC on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars overcame a slow start where they shot just 2-15 to begin the opening half to score 100 or more points for the third time this season.
GCC out-rebounded Lakeland 52-42 in a game that saw 15 lead changes and 10 ties.
Tarik Allicock led a balanced attack that had four Cougars in double-figures with 18 points. He also collected 12 rebounds. Lamel Faison finished with 17 points, including four of six from three-point range, and also dished out six assists.
Genesee extended a three point lead at half by going on an 8-2 run to start the second and held a lead as large as 26 in the final period.
Devante Carolina came off the bench to score 15 points, Anthony Williams added 12 points and four assists, Alex Morris and Amancho Adopo each added nine points and Terrence Brown grabbed 10 boards and scored four points.
GCC returns to action on the road on Tuesday at Lackawanna College. Tip-off set for 7pm.
