The first round of the 2014-15 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men's Basketball Tournament will kick off on Tuesday in Danville, IL and the Genesee Community College men's basketball team will match up with the top seed in the tournament, No. 1 Schoolcraft College.
Schoolcraft (29-3) is the tournament's overall number one seed and the top ranked team in the NJCAA National Poll. The Ocelots have won their last 18 games in a row.
Last time out:
Genesee qualified for the national tournament after winning the District II title over Dean College (Mass) on Mar. 7, 96-79. Ervin Mitchell and Naquil Jones both led GCC in scoring with 21 points apiece. The Cougars never trailed in the game and shot better than 53-percent from the floor. Jason Perry Murray became the all-time leader in career blocks in school history (110). He had four blocks in the game.
Schoolcraft captured the District X title with a 79-55 win over Delta College. Ronald Booth led all scorers with 26 points and Javan Thomas added 10. The Ocelots out-rebounded Delta 44-28 and connected on nine of 19 three-point baskets.

Genesee is 1-4 all time in national tournament games
GCC is the second-highest scoring team in the tournament, averaging 89.9 points per game (Lakeland Community College averages 90.7ppg)
