While it may not be the final time the Genesee Community College men's basketball team appears at home this season, Thursday night will mark the last regular season home game of the year for the Cougars. GCC will host #10 Monroe Community College for an 8 p.m. start in what it hopes will be a "white-out" atmosphere.
Genesee (20-7, 5-4) is currently third in the Western New York Athletic Conference standings with a 5-4 record.
Monroe (21-5, 10-0) is unbeaten in conference play and holds the top seed in the conference. The Tribunes will host the Region III Final Four Mar. 1-2.

The Cougars earned their 20th win, the highest win total since the 2003-04 season, with an 85-80 road win at Jamestown Community College on Feb. 13. Naquil Jones led GCC with 26 points and Ervin Mitchell added 23 points and 15 rebounds. Alex Morris chipped in 11 points and Jason Perry-Murray finished with 10 on 4-6 shooting.
Monroe stayed unbeaten in conference play by edging Erie Community College on Feb. 15, 76-74. The Tribunes trailed by as much as 17 at one point but came back to defeat the Kats. Tashawn Desir and Anthony Hemingway recorded a team high 17 points apiece and Emmanuel Joseph and TJ Davis scored 13 and 12 points respectively.
What to watch for:
With his 23 points against Jamestown Community College, Ervin Mitchell has scored 20 or more points in 20 games this season. Naquil Jones has done it 18 times.
The Cougars were outrebounded 45-33 in the first meeting of the year on Jan. 18. Monroe won the game, 96-75.
The top two teams in the WNYAC earn a first-round bye in the Regional Championships. The no. 3 and no. 4 seeds will host play-in games on Feb. 25. With a win, the Cougars will lock up the no. 3 seed.
Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Thursday night. Fans in attendance are encouraged to wear white to the game. The game broadcast will air on 90.7 FM WGCC and online at www.wgcc-fm.com
