Naquil Jones scored a season-high 34 points to help the Genesee Community College men's basketball team to an easy 105-79 win over Cayuga Community College on Saturday afternoon.
GCC held a 47-30 lead in the first half before Cayuga made a 17-6 run to end the half and cut the Cougars lead to six.
Jones scored 17 of his 34 in the first half and Ervin Mitchell added 15 points in the opening period.
It was all Genesee in the second half, as the Cougars took a double-digit lead after their first three possessions and never saw the lead drop below ten.
Mitchell also grabbed nine rebounds, Alastair Cole added 16 points, Gabriel Burroughs chipped in 10 points, DaShawn Suber dished out five assists and scored eight points and Jason Perry-Murray grabbed nine rebounds.
Genesee has now won ten games in a row and are 11-2 on the season. The Cougars will travel to Niagara College (Canada) on Sunday for a 4 p.m. start.
