The Genesee Community College men's basketball win streak is now up to seven games in a row after the Cougars took down visiting Davis College, 107-91 on Tuesday night.
After an 18-9 start to the first half, Naquil Jones and Ervin Mitchell each completed back-to-back three-point plays to extend the GCC lead to 14. Later in the half, Gabriel Burroughs scored 14 straight GCC points, including four-3pt. baskets, to give GCC its largest lead of the game at 46-24.
Davis came back to cut the lead down to 13 midway through the second half, but Genesee hit six out of eight free throws in the final minutes to ice the game.
Jones finished with a double-double, scoring a game-high 27 points and collecting 11 rebounds. Mitchell finished with 24 points and eight rebounds, Burroughs ended the night with 19 points, Alastair Cole netted 15 points and Jason Perry-Murray grabbed eight boards.
Genesee (8-2) will return to action this weekend in the Cougar Holiday Classic Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
