Carrera led the GCC baseball team to a 4-2 record last week against two Western New York Athletic Conference opponents (Monroe CC and Mercyhurst North East).
He produced seven hits in 18 at bats (.389 average), including a home run and two doubles. He scored eight runs and stole five bases while driving in three runs.
Carrera currently holds a .382 batting average on the season, which is second highest on the team.
The Cougars will host Mercyhurst North East this week on Saturday.
Covel led the GCC softball team to a five-win week last week, contributing both on the mound and offensively for the Cougars.
In eight games, she tallied a .542 batting average (13-24) with six extra base hits (including two home runs) and two stolen bases.
On the mound, she went 3-1 in four starts, throwing a pair of two-hitters including a shutout of Jamestown Community College-Olean and an extra-inning win over Finger Lakes Community College. In total, she gave up just seven earned runs in her four starts.
Genesee will take to the diamond twice this week, traveling to Jefferson Community College on Thursday and visiting Mercyhurst North East on Friday.
