No. 3 Men’s Soccer Team Getting Plenty of NJCAA Recognition

The No. 3 Genesee Community College men's soccer team had another one its players selected as men's soccer's national player of the week by the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Oct. 11.

Charlie Livesey's 10-point effort from the previous week was tops in NJCAA D-III play that included a clutch corner kick with about 20 seconds remaining that allowed Sam Hall to convert for the tying goal in a 2-2 double overtime tie against No. 4 Herkimer.

Livesey's selection at the national level is the fourth time this season a Cougar has been honored at the men's D-III level. Of the 10 combined player and goalie awards given out this season, the Cougars have earned nearly half. Their four total are also more than any team at the NJCAA D-I level as well.

Prior to Livesey, Ryan Price earned NJCAA Player of the Week on Sept. 13, while Cougar goalkeeper David Ormiston has won Goalie of the Week in consecutive weeks from Sept. 13 – 20.
